About CF Neuroscience Programme
The Champalimaud Foundation Neuroscience Programme aims to unravel the neural basis of behaviour.
The CF Neuroscience Programme will host a number of research groups whose principal investigators are at different stages of their careers. During its initial phase it will take place at Institute Gulbenkian Ciência (IGC), under the agreement between the Champalimaud and the Gulbenkian Foundations. Once the new Champalimaud Research Institute is built, all research groups will transfer to the new building. A highly interactive atmosphere, where collaborations across groups will encouraged and fostered. Although interaction between groups will not be imposed in any form it will be promoted by having shared facilities, services and technical staff, and by regular meetings with all research groups.
Because we strongly believe that interaction, not only between the researchers of the FC programme, but also with researchers from other institutions, is crucial for the production of cutting edge science, the FC will encourage and fund regular visits from outside scientists to the FC and from FC researchers to other institutions.
We are convinced that along with the development of cutting edge science at FC a strong emphasis should be given to education. This will take form in three kinds of activities:
- A PhD programme
- A postdoctoral programme
- Workshops
