CF Neuroscience programme

Mission statement

The FC programme in Neuroscience aims to unravel the neural basis of behaviour. In the past few decades an enormous effort has been directed towards the development of neurosciences worldwide. Nonetheless, little progress has been achieved in the understanding of both normal and pathologic behaviour. We are convinced that there are now sufficient conceptual and technological tools to make important breakthroughs in the understanding of the neural basis of behaviour. Thus, we believe that investing in basic research in this field will significantly impact on our understanding of brain function, which will in turn contribute to the understanding and possible treatment of brain dysfunction.

Ph.D. Programme

The doctoral programme aims to provide research training at the highest level in Neuroscience. In particular, our goal is to provide students with the capacity of engaging in integrative research aimed at studying the brain and behavior at the systems level. Crossing of different experimental approaches and different research areas are encouraged. Students are expected to develop critical and creative thought that will lead to innovative research.  read more
