CF Neuroscience programme

Positions

The Champalimaud Program in Neuroscience will open calls for Principal investigators on a regular basis. During its initial phase it will take place at Institute Gulbenkian Ciência (IGC), under the agreement between the Champalimaud and the Gulbenkian Foundations. While at IGC the program will recruit up to 8 research groups.  Each group will have internationally competitive start up funds and running costs. Funding from the Champalimaud Foundation (CF) will provide the necessary conditions for research projects that are innovative and risky, which for these same characteristics would not be funded by the general granting institutions. Researchers are encouraged to apply for external funding, by way of contributing with such funds for a ‘golden parachute’. That is, any external fund that leads to sparing of internal CF funding will turn into a personal fund that can be spent at the researcher’s discretion, either at CF or another institution that will come to host the researcher. There will be three kinds of positions: senior researcher positions (aimed at recruiting establish researchers) that can have a group size up to 10 members; researcher positions (aimed at recruiting young principal investigators or senior postdoctoral fellows) that can have a group size up to 5 members; independent fellow positions (aimed at recruiting fellows that just got their PhD degrees) that can have one member.
