Champalimaud Cancer Talks. Registration closed.
Nobel Laureate, Professor Harald zur Hausen, will open the new session of Champalimaud Cancer Talks with a public lecture at 12h00 on October 12th at the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown.
On October 12th at 12h00 the Champalimaud Foundation will receive Professor Harald zur Hausen, winner of the 2008 Nobel Prize for Medicine, for a public lecture on “The search for infectious agents linked to human cancers”. This event – which takes place as part of the “Champalimaud Cancer Talks” series – is organised by the Champalimaud Foundation with the objective of offering the general public a unique opportunity to hear one of the leading global authorities on cancer talk about this disease. Professor Harald zur Hausen is well known for his work on the human papilloma virus (HPV). His research, which focused on cervical cancer and how it is provoked by infectious agents, facilitated the development of a vaccine against one of the most frequent types of cancer in women.
