Daniel Proença de Carvalho

Daniel Proença de Carvalho is a Law Graduate who studied at the University of Coimbra. During his career as a lawyer he has held several offices, both in the public and private sector. He has been Minister for the Mass Media and Chairman of the Board of Directors of RTP (Rádio Televisão Portuguesa). He is an independent opinion leader who has made several interventions in civic and political causes. He is currently a member of the Advisory Board of the Gulbenkian Foundation and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vieira da Silva Foundation. Daniel Proença de Carvalho has written several books about his activities as a lawyer in several important cases, both before and after the Portuguese revolution on the 25th of April 1974. In addition to his other positions of responsibility he is also the Executor of the will of Mr. António Champalimaud, who asked him to draft the by-laws of the Foundation.
