The Neuronautas Are Back!

The Champalimaud Foundation has just announced the 2nd edition of Neuronautas, this time with two programmes that will take place in parallel. With the start scheduled for June 24 and 28, respectively, the challenge is launched.

Neuronautas Are Back!

This Gulbenkian Knowledge Academy is looking for young people ready to embark on an intergalactic journey into the future of neuroscience!

In this edition, candidates will be able to choose one of two possible trips - Long Flight (lasting about 4 weeks) or Short Flight (lasting around 2 weeks). For the first, 16 Neurocadets will be recruited and for the second, 8 Chimeras!

Applications are open to 10th grade students of the current school year (2020/2021) at a school in the Lisbon or Oeiras Municipalities. This geographical limitation is due to the fact that this Academy foresees that the participants will make occasional trips to the Champalimaud Centre in Lisbon. However, efforts are being made to extend this academy to the rest of the country as of the next academic year (2021/2022).

As in the 1st edition of Neuronautas, the participants will embark on this adventure in the company of scientists, science communicators and employees of the Champalimaud Foundation.

For more details on the Neuronautas Gulbenkian Academy of Knowledge, and how applications should be submitted, see the official programme page.

Applications are open until April 22, 2021. Don't miss this opportunity to join the next generation of brain explorers!
