In recognition of their endeavour, the FAITH project has been nominated for an ‘.eu Web Award’ in the ‘Better World’ category, The .eu Web Awards are an online competition, launched in 2014 and designed to acknowledge the best websites using the .eu, .ею or .ευ extensions, in six dynamic categories. Finalists with the highest scores from the jury will be selected as winners, and will be announced during the Awards ceremony held on 16 October 2021.

The Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown, in Lisbon, is a research institution specialised in the neuroscience of behaviour and the complex interactions within biological systems, and at the same time it is a medical and technological institution providing specialised clinical treatment for oncology and mental health.

This last year will go down in history as one of enormous challenges that had a profound impact on societies and people’s lives, especially those who were already dealing with diseases, like cancer. The data shows that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a deep effect in cancer screening programmes, services and care, with an approximately 40 per cent drop* in diagnoses of cancer and delays to treatment with immeasurable repercussions on the outcomes.

In the 2021 edition, Acesso Cultura received 44 texts from 18 different entities/people, which were analysed by the Prize jury made up of Elsa Santos Alípio, Historian, Joana Fernandes, Clear Communication Consultant and Rita Tomás, Communication Director of Teatro do Bairro Alto. The selection of the jury came down to the texts presented by Casa Fernando Pessoa, Amigos do Coliseu do Porto and by the Champalimaud Centre's Communication, Events and Outreach Group.
