‘Metamersion: Latent Spaces’ joins art, science and technology at the Champalimaud Warehouse

The second edition of Metamersion, the cycle of artistic, scientific, technological and therapeutic immersive events of the Champalimaud Foundation, launches on December 15th with the programme Latent Spaces, taking place at the Champalimaud Warehouse, in the former warehouses of DocaPesca, in Lisbon, in a location that is also in a latent phase, and where the first steps towards the creation of a centre dedicated to Human Neuroecology and Digital Therapeutics are being taken.

The Latent Spaces programme will present a set of pieces and experiences that are intimately linked to the most recent challenge undertaken at the Champalimaud Foundation: research and rehabilitation based on the knowledge generated in the fields of perception and movement.

Between the months of December and January, pieces developed by international and national artists such as William Forsythe (EUA/DE), the Lunar Ring collective (DE), sound artist Jonathan Uliel Saldanha (PT), and multimedia artist Tupac Martir (MX/PT), – as well as other installations authored by scientists and physicians from the Champalimaud Foundation (PT) and Johns Hopkins University (USA) –, will be part of the Latent Spaces programme.

Apart from several exhibited pieces, the programme will also include public events, such as round tables and concerts, which will be announced on the webpage of the Bridges to the Unknown: Crossing Art with Science initiative, on the Champalimaud Foundation website.

Para além das diferentes peças expostas, o programa contará com eventos públicos, como mesas redondas e concertos, que serão anunciados na página da iniciativa Bridges to the Unknown: Crossing Art with Science, no site da Fundação Champalimaud. The Portuguese artists Clothilde and Joana Sá are already confirmed for a music concert on the 17th of December at 21:30, as part of the piece “Atavic Forest”.

Latent Spaces can be freely visited between December 15th and the 17th, 2022 and in January, 2023 (dates to be announced soon) at the Champalimaud Warehouse, located in the former DocaPesca warehouses, in Lisbon.
